Newest Citizen
Richard J. Watters — Sun, 02/03/2008 - 10:52pm
It's official! We now have another US Citizen. Last Tuesday Yesenia took her oath of Citizenship to complete the last step in becoming a naturalized US Citizen. We spent the afternoon at the Arlington Convention Center. After the acknowledgment of the candidates, everyone took the Oath. Then, there was a greeting from the President and a great keynote speaker.
To celebrate, we had and earlier dinner at Bravo. I would highly recommend it then next time you are in the Arlington area.

As many, if not all of you, have heard, Gordon passed away on January 8, 2008. Gordon enjoyed watching this website grow and mature, and was always interested in adding content to it. For that reason, this site is being dedicated to the loving memory of Gordon - father, grandfather, brother, soul mate, and friend.
A page has been created to share stories and photos. Visit it at www.thewattersfamily.com/gordon.
We will always miss him and the great impact he had on our lives!

Chasing the Stars
Wayne — Sat, 11/17/2007 - 7:14pm
I may give up trying to comprehend
Just exactly how and exactly when
My life has come to be
A magical expression of you and me.
For so long I sat and I pondered
Until the day that you entered.
Now every sunrise and every set
Emerges with only you to express.
Arms wrapped about the one I love,
We gaze upon the heavens above.
The light cast through countless beams,
Each one, a different dream.
Chasing the stars, together we plan
Reaching our dreams, we know we can.
We take them all one by one.
From romance to home to just plain fun.
You and me getting better still.

Veteran's Day
Wayne — Mon, 11/12/2007 - 8:41pm
Today I finally completed the porch project that was started several months ago. Peter and I agreed on a new tin roof for the patio so we went to Home Depot and selected the products. Then yesterday Clyde borrowed his neighbor's pick up and we went to pick up the sheets. Today, Clyde came over and helped me put the sheets up and seal it to make it rain proof. I am quite pleased with how it came out.

My special moon - Part 2
poemwriter — Sun, 11/11/2007 - 8:14pm
One night the moon said to me,
"If he makes you cry, why don't you leve him?"
I paused for a while, then I looked back at the moon and said,
"Moon... would you every leave your sky?"
I like this one because it shows that no matter if you the most darkest of dark days with that special someone... you can't leave them. Even if you try and try, you can't lose them...not now.

A guy that fits me. Part 1
poemwriter — Sun, 11/11/2007 - 8:07pm
Find a guy who calls you beautiful, instead of hot.
Who calls you back when you hang up on him.
Wait for the boy who kisses your forehead.
Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats.
Who holds your hand in front of his friends.
Who thinks you are just as pretty without makeup on.
One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares, and loves with you and how he's the luckiest guy in the world to have you.
The one who turns to his friends and says "that's her."

Race for a Cure
Wayne — Sat, 11/10/2007 - 3:06pm
This past Sunday I took part in the Race for a Cure. I met up with three of my co-workers and a friend of mine too. We walked about three miles along with 21,057 of our closest friends. All together, we raised $1,290,455.43 for cancer research and support. Great job!

More fun (*sarcastically*) OH JOY!
poemwriter — Fri, 10/19/2007 - 9:51pm
I'll Cry Too
I'll always be beside you until the very end,
Wiping away all your tears, and being your best friend.
I'll smile when you smile and feel all the pain you do.
And if you cry a single tear, I promise I'll cry too.

Just something for fun...it's not a poem.

An Unperfect Girl
I'm not a perfect girl.
My hair doesn't always stay in place, and I spill things a lot.
I'm pretty clumsy, and sometimes I have a broken heart.
My friends and I sometimes fight and maybe some days nothing goes right, but when I think about it and take a step back... I remember how amazing life truly is and that maybe, just maybe, I like being unperfect...

Columbus Day
Wayne — Tue, 10/09/2007 - 7:05pm
Yesterday, I spent a good chunk of the afternoon cruising the lake at 78 miles per hour. I was at Lake Travis and rented a waverunner. It was a lot of fun.
